Visual Description: Terzan 5

The graphic features two images of the globular cluster Terzan 5, which is a dense group of stars in the outer halo of the Milky Way galaxy. On the left, there is an image from the Hubble Space Telescope that shows the crowded field of stars within Terzan 5. It is dominated by blue and pale gold colors. The right-hand panel contains an image from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory where low, medium and high-energy X-rays are colored red, green, and blue respectively. It looks like a handful of multicolored confetti colored dots on a black background. The structure of the globular cluster on the left looks like a densely packed area of stars, like looking in a snowglobe but covered with stars instead of snowflakes.
