During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Oct 16 to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE).

Chandra image and press releases were issued on Oct 16 describing observations of GW170817. For the first time, scientists have detected light tied to a gravitational-wave event. In this case, two merging neutron stars in the galaxy NGC 4993. This was a world-wide program involving ground and space-based observatories. There were 4 observations made with Chandra, the first a non-detection and the other 3 showing a significant source coincident with the optical position of GW170817. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of MAXI J1535-571 coordinated with NuSTAR, Gemini and the JVLA, an observation of SAX J1748.9-2021 field, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Oct 16, and an observation of MAXI J1535-571 which is a follow-up to a Target of Opportunity accepted on Sep 8.
