During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Of note this week was the Chandra Quarterly Review conducted on Apr 21.

A Chandra press release was issued on Apr 21 describing Chandra observations of the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A in which an important type of titanium was detected. This titanium is predicted to form in bubbles that drive the explosion of a massive star after its fuel is depleted and it implodes. The detection of such titanium provides strong support for a class of supernova explosion studied in computer simulations. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SN2020ywx, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Apr 7, and an observation of RAqr coordinated with HST.
