During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A real-time procedure was completed on May 28 to uplink a flight software patch to modify three Electrical Power System (EPS) K-constants. The new settings will prevent the EPS F_Eclipse flag from inadvertently toggling while the spacecraft is in sunlight. The change is needed due to expected long-term changes in solar array characteristics. Additional real-time procedures were executed on May 29-30 to dump OBC-A and -B memory as a follow-up to the patch. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory images maintained on the ground. Additional real-time procedures were executed on Jun 2 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE). Chandra passed through the eighth, ninth, and tenth (and final) eclipses of the season on May 29, Jun 1 and Jun 3 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. Real-time procedures were executed on Jun 4 to disable SCS-29 and to dump and clear the EPS glitch counters as post-eclipse season actions. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of AT2020xnd, which is a follow-up to a Target of Opportunity accepted on Oct 26, 2020 and is coordinated with NuSTAR, and observations of AT2019avd, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on May 31. |
