Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 31 July 2026 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Command loads were replanned and uplinked during the week to respond to the current unavailability of the Madrid DSCC, which results in more widely-spaced and irregular ground contacts than usual. The new loads execute the identical science plan as the initial loads, but with longer load segments, in order to lower the probability of concluding the onboard loads without an opportunity to uplink further load segments. These operational adjustments were made without impact to the spacecraft or the science program.

Chandra passed through the 3rd, 4th and 5th eclipses of the season on Jul 25, 27, and 30 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below.
