During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A flight software patch was uplinked on Sep 19 that disables the capability for the MUPS-B2 thruster firing, to prevent the risk of a stuck open thruster. Real-time procedures were executed on Sep 19 and 20 to dump OBC-A memory as a follow-up to the patches. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory image maintained on the ground.

A real-time procedure was used to monitor the momentum unload that was executed from the on-board command loads on Sep 17; the unload performance was nominal.

A Chandra image release was issued on Sep 19 describing observations of the Coma cluster of galaxies. Galaxies clusters are the largest structures in the Universe held together by gravity. Long arms of hot gas been discovered in the Coma cluster of galaxies; these arms span at least a half a million light years. These arms were likely formed by hot gas being stripped and left behind smaller clusters of galaxies as they merged with Coma. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/photo/2013/coma/

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of SDSS J0908+4441 and SDSS J2222-0946 coordinated with the Hobby-Eberly Telescope.
