Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 15 May 2015 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A Chandra image release was issued on May 14 describing a magnetar near the Milky Way's supermassive black hole that is exhibiting some unusual behavior. In particular the X-ray output from this magnetar is dropping more slowly than others and its surface is exceptionally hot. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/photo/2015/sgr1745/

The schedule of targets for the next two weeks is shown below and includes an observation of GRO J1750-27, which is a Target of Opportunity accepted on May 11, SAX J1808.4-3658, which is a Director's Discretionary Time TOO accepted on May 11, 2S 1553-542, which is a Director's Discretionary Time TOO accepted on May 13, and M28 coordinated with NRAO-GBT.
